ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE, COMMITMENT, AND JOB SATISFACTION IN COMPANIES IN DIFFERENT INDONESIAN CITIES: THE RETENTION OF GENERATION Z
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to better understand the attitudes and actions of Generation Z in the workplace, particularly the factors that affect their level of job satisfaction. Data was gathered from 118 Gen Z employees who worked in several Indonesian cities, as well as some nearby to Yogyakarta. Multiple linear regression was used to evaluate the data. The findings corroborate other studies by demonstrating that corporate culture is the single factor that positively affects Generation Z retention. Nonetheless, job satisfaction and organizational commitment had no bearing on Gen Z employees' retention. These results go counter to some earlier research that found that job satisfaction and organizational commitment had a favorable impact on employee retention.
